Well I can see their reluctance to do it as 'goodwill' since it's all labor and it does take a long time. I didn't ask for goodwill under warranty...I'm willing to pay for the update.
I heard back from a dealer, and going to book there. They're charging me 2 hours. It's true that biting the bullet now will allow for easier and less expensive updates in the future.
