Once there was an all blacked out E90 here with black rim and yellow lip. Kinda "bee" look. Was very nice, i recall it was up for sale and was a cali car.

So I don't think it actually looks bad in general, but imho only works when there are 2 colors involved i.e. body and rim in same color + TA stripe in whatever color, or Body and TA strip in same color + Rims in whatever color.
