I ended up ordering mine from a dealer in Boston MA, mostly cause of price and speed. B/c i'm assuming no one really orders a coupe up there I was able to get my car in a build spot immediately, unlike the dealers i dealt with in the tri state that told me 3 to 4 month wait. I mean all the dealers i dealt with down here were sold out of 07coupes in the summer and up there in Novemeber they had so many just sitting on their lot, it was unreal! Then again when i was driving around up there i hardly saw any bmw's on the road and down here they are everywhere.
I'm in White Plains. I understand what you mean about the tri-state dealers. When I was first in the market for a BMW, I found many of the dealer's to be quite arrogant...sorta like the "you're lucky to be buying this car from us" type of attitude that really threw me off. When I went in with numbers ready to make a deposit, I was treated very differently. They took me quite seriously and went through hoops to get me what I wanted. I think they were a bit skeptical of a young twenty-something walking in with a college hoodie and sneakers at first. Once you open your wallet, they treat you like gold.

I don't know about you man, but the anticipation is killing me now. We're a day out from port, then figure what maybe another three to seven days to the dealer (+ a day or two for you?). I'm running out of things to do while waiting!
