We just ordered a [US-Spec] 328i Wagon through BMW's Military/Diplomatic sales program. Since we are planning to remain in Europe for several years, the program was a no-brainer. We paid $33K for a car with an MSRP of $40K. We were also able to avoid the local 20% Sales Tax and 20% Luxury Tax...
Why not use the military discount and buy when you're back in the US? If you go through the Military/Diplomatic program and pick up in Europe you will then have to pay to have the car shipped back to the US.
I have attached the E90 Sedan price details. You should be able to compare these discounted prices to what is listed on
www.bmwusa.com. If you contact BMW Diplomatic Sales directly, and specify the car and location, they will put you in touch with a local dealer (either in Texas or wherever you want to pick the car up).
