And about that sniffer:
1. Are you ready to risk them finding it?
2. Since you do not know _what_ they did you'll end up with a lot of data but nothing to compare/crossreference against.
IMHO you'd need to active sniff in order to gain any useful knowledge. i.e. access to the true tester, someone who really knows how to operate it and the car itself, time and guts (or someone else's car
).
