As of 1/24 at 6:00pm EDT, the Elektra is 518 miles away from Halifax, NS, Canada. Since it's departure on Saturday, it has traversed 2,244 nautical miles. If it continues it's current pace, it should be in port by midnight tomorrow (Thursday). Lately though it's been picking up the pace, so it could end up reaching port earlier.
Maybe it's just me, but I find the whole sailwx.info site very interesting. The Elektra has reported position EVERY 6 hours and along with the lat/long pos it also reports water temp, air temp, wind speed, wind direction, etc. Pretty cool stuff. And a very ingenious use of shipping vessels so scientists can study the earth.
