I better add this , i had a DMS 535d for about 20000 miles with no drop in perforamce or problems whatsoever .
A chipped 320D IMO should not be able to stay with a 3.0 Z4 . The 2.5 Z4 does 60 in 6.6 secs with the ton in just 17.2
I would blame your friend for driving too slow the first time round !
