I wrote to Tischer BMW regarding my invoice stating that the water pump was remanufactured. Here is their response.
Hey Brad, BMW lists all of their water pumps like that but I assure you that they are all brand new units. We cannot order a remanufactured unit here in the US. I suspect that they may offer remand units in other markets, but not here in the US so thats why they are listed that way. All other remand parts that we have available(transmissions, starters, steering racks, etc.) carry a core charge/exchange process so that the old cores can be collected by BMW so that they can remanufacture them. Not the case with any of their water pumps, as they are new.
