In real world driving, like overtaking and pulling into the outside lane of the motorway on full throttle you will not be disappointed and give the 335i more than a run for its money. 335d = 3.9 seconds on the 50 - 75 mph measure which is only 0.2 behind the 911 turbo! The 330d will not disappoint unless you want a traffic light drag race against 335i's.

These figures are based on both cars being in the same gear (4th in this case i would say) and in the case of the 335d in kickdown mode - in the right gear at the right revs the 335i will be quicker over any increment than the 330d..............not that its that important but your figures are very misleading.
The 335i in
third gear can cover 50 - 70 mph in 3 seconds dead, not sure how much extra time it will need for the extra 5 mph to hit 75mph but definately no more than a second at the most..........in the same ball park as the 335d in kickdown and noticeably quicker than the 330d.

OP - Test drive a 330d and then make a decision on which car best suits your needs
