Can someone explain the clutch stop thing?

I understand the theory behind it but in practical why use a stop? Doesn't the catch point become second nature after use over time to the driver? I never go to the floor with my clutch pedal to shit gears anyway and rarely do I not get the shift in perfect sync.

So what's the benefit that I'm missing?
