+ $650 mileage adjustment for 30k miles (base mileage is 35k)

+ $ 1,450 for minor dealer reconditioning (new tires, brake pads, etc.), this is applicable on a CPO vehicle.
= $24,700 "Market Ready" wholesale value. This is an accurate starting point for your CPO car negotiations. Galves is the used car pricing guide that dealers in the Northeast use to determine their maximum offers on customer trade-ins (www.galves.com).

+ $2,000 (estimate) for the 2 year/50,000 mile CPO warranty + a fair mark-up for dealer overhead, and profit.

What constitutes a "fair mark-up" is up to you, but I think it should be no more than 10% for a BMW dealer’s overhead & profit on a CPO car. In other words, your instinct is right not to pay over $30,000 for the car (BEFORE any shell game the dealer will try to play on a trade-in).

Good luck.
TJDiCandido: this was extremely helpful, thanks! I am going to look at a black/black 335i E90 tonight. So I'll update tomorrow. I have an 09 328xi E90with premium pkg/17" wheels/auto NON-ZSP. It has 34,500 mi. Any idea what I should expect them to offer me on that?
