Main difference is how much smoother the 177 is, it is as smooth as the other manufacturers 6 cylinder diesels.
It feels alot livelier too, MPG wise about 4 at most, but it does feel lively, but sure both would feel pretty similar after a map.
2007 M-Sports (177) are going for sub £17k at auctions btw, so consider this option, all will be under warranty and you can hpi any before going.
