Wow, mine started doing this at about 8500 miles. I took it to the dealer and they said they "glazed" the pads and rotors? It stoped for 3 days then came back even louder. I spoke with my service manager and he told me it's the composition of the breaks and pads that BMW switched to. I don't know if that's true, but for my case I think it's the sensor. BTW, under the service-info screen in the car, the rear brakes were at about 15000 miles left, now they are at 10000 miles and I only drove about 1500 miles. I'm going to deal with it for now and have the service manager drive with me when I bring the car in a month for yearly service.
