how did you come up with this?

'Getriebe' is translated as 'Transmission' in this context and 'Handschalter' refers to 'manual switching', i.e. this setting tells the FRM if the car has an MT or AUTO and shouldn't have anything to do with the curbside mirror tilting.

I'm fluent in German and thought I'd give my $.02 on this.
I'm still curious to hear why this should have to do with the mirrors.
