Thanks for the ideas guys. I did it last night and it wasn't as hard as the tech(not sure if I should call him that) described it..
@tofu-THANKS. "i found that the black pipe unions that home depot sells fit perfectly" thats what I picked from Home Depot + some 1/2 rod, nuts and washers.
