The most frustrating thing about this is that after 11 hours of the car being nicked I received an email from the met, confirming that the case was now closed as there was nothing else that could be done.
I was just about to copy the email and my response but realised that it is confidential and there may be consequences.
However, I can tell you that the two officers that came to my house categorically stated that there will be no investigation as their numbers are just too thin on the ground. All they would be doing was logging the incident on the system and providing a crime number. Open season for all car thieves. ‘ Come to England, steel a car and don’t worry the police won’t be investigating.
