A colleague has the CD changer (I don't) and he says that the single CD player displays spaces as "_" and the CD changer doesn't, i.e. it displays the space between words.

Either player will display track names etc without the underscore... it's the options in the CD burner program that allow it to be displayed this way. iTunes is no good if you want a nice display with all characters displayed as they should be.
Nero is the most popular... but not the only one. There are many posts in this forum that give the settings for Nero etc...
