Oil change interval controversy....

2012 BMW 335is.
Oil change at 7400 miles.
No racing or driving in very dusty environments.
Changed the original Castrol factory oil.
Sent a sample to Blackstone Labs today and asked for the full test.
I should have the results in 4-6 days.
I will post the results.
I assume that these folks do a good job and can give us a good idea of how often I need to change MY oil. Remember, I live in Alabama so no Chicago cold starts or Arizona living in fiery hell driving.
For you pros; my 61 years of living make it difficult for me to be comfortable with extended changes knowing that my oil normal operating temp is 240F.
With the tight tolerances of turbos spinning at around 100,000 rpm I worry about my oil. Hopefully, I am the old guy with insufficient mechanic/engineer knowledge to have a clue what I am talking about.
All this said, the results may help some of us make a decision.
If it makes a difference, I lived in Germany for 15 years so I have a tendency to let let the lady run to 130-140 mph if the road is clear. This is for very short times as jail is not a good option.
By the way, I bought a 2001 325CI in Germany and drove it daily at 110-120 to work. At 130,000 miles it needs around one half liter of oil per 15,000 mile changes. Never had an oil change before 15,000 miles! Of note, this vehicle has no turbo.
Looking forward to your comments. Hopefully, my results will assist us all.
Schoenen Tag meine Damen und Herren.
Jim
