Point taken,however if Motor Codes,who apparently monitor the 'whole motor industry',know nothing about the issue,BMW themselves also apparently know nothing about the issue,why would a s/hand dealer know about it? (of course I'm sure they do,especially BMW specialists)

Private seller = 'Caveat emptor' springs to mind

I could be wrong,but a successful claim on this issue (theft by OBD/key cloning) is as likely as a rocking horse shitting in the nursery.
