Alternative is to use a hockey puck and cut that so it looks like those 25 dollar metal adapters.

I butchered a piece of wood and have used it successfully but I'm tempted to splurge on the metal adapter.
I think the only way to use a hockey puck would be to remove to hard plastic pieces off the car... Since the puck can't fit inside the grooves. I do know about the adapters, they have the raised piece in the middle though.
