Driving across country is no different than driving across town; it just takes longer. If your car has an issue that will possibly let it fail you driving across country, then that same issue will show up just driving around your home town. What tune up would you do? Plugs at 45K? (90K?) Air filter? Oil change? Brakes? I could see an oil change early if the car will go past the OCI enroute, but other than that, go for it. The CBS will tell you the status of all the maintenance items, so if none are going to come due during the trip then you are good to go.
