235/45R17 will definitely work without issues. A good number of members here go from 225/40R18 to 235/40R18 which is a similar overall wheel/tire diameter increase and I don't see why it wouldn't work on the 17" wheel. The 245/40R17 should work too but I am not sure I would go for that personally. The tire is quite wide for an 8" wheel so it will create a bit of a bulge which will increase the tire's tendency to roll during hard cornering.
