Hey Russ,

Sapphire Metallic Black is usually quite hard... this means 2 things. One, it will be more challenging to remove defects from the paint. Two, it will be very easy to finish down without marring/haze.... so there are some pros/cons to working with hard paint.

Depending on the current condition of your paint, you may need to resort to something like microfiber cutting pads and a cutting compound for defect removal. If your paint is in relatively good shape and just has some minor defects, you'll likely just need a foam polishing pad and medium polish.

Here are some of my recommendations for you:

Meguiar's Microfiber Cutting Discs
Light Cutting Foam Pads
Polishing Pads

Meguiar's D300 Cutting Compound or Meguiar's M100 Cutting Compound
Menzerna PF2500 Medium Polish
Meguiar's M205 Polish

Here are a few examples of Sapphire Metallic Black using D300 and MF Cutting Pads

After polishing and topping with Chemical Guys Black Light, it looked stunning
