The leftmost lane, (lane #1), on most highway in NA, is known as the passing lane, (fast lane). Hence, there are road signs that said "Keep right except to pass" or "Slower traffic keep right".
Passing a slower vehicle on its right, it's not just unsafe, but could also be illegal.
BUT, sometimes, some of those dxxb fxxk "drivers" out there leave me no choice.
So, STOP cruising on the passing lane at 95 kph and talk to your bff on the cellphone while thinking you are pacing the highway for the rest of us. If you see no car in front of you and 10 behind you, MOVE OVER.
On the 404, some areas have the HOV on lane 1, cars on HOV cannot (and should not) cut back to lane 2 anytime they like. ("Solid Line Do Not Cross"). Therefore lane 2 should now be treated as the passing lane and what I mentioned above will apply.
Please
stop cruising on the lane next to the HOV ! It's for passing!
