And yes...it seems that short shifting is faster. On these test results of 0-60 in 5.7 seconds..etc. Must be a 1st gear launch. Because that is what I got yesterday in 1st gear. However launching in 2nd gear gave me the 5.2 second 0-60 time. And I am willing to bet the magazine testers even thought about launching in 2nd gear! Being able to pull tall gears like that..Must be the torque factor! FYI...this car is doing 80mph at 2000 rpm. |
I still haven't figured out the point of 1st gear in this car... it seems the only time the car can go into 1st is when you switch to DS mode and then downshift. My butt-o-meter tells me I'm getting a faster launch in 2nd gear, and the numbers here seem to back that up.
