I should clarify that it was the car telling me that I couldn't set those shortcuts, not the ED delivery guy (note the use of "it" and not "he" when I was describing the feedback I was getting).
All the delivery guy said was that in order for that type of stuff (including the door-locking behavior or the triple-turn signal behavior) to get saved to the key, it has to be in the slot (even if the key is a CA key).
