Yeah, no reason it won't help, it's just more critical on the manual cars. Then again, I don't know how the DBW works in these, on my truck the DBW actually closes the throttle quite a bit on shifts, which on a turbo motor would have the same effect as lifting off the throttle quickly in a manual car between shifts.
