my car never leaked, but recently i got some power wash thing done and later on saw some water inside...not sure if it was due to wash or after wash when those guys opened the door and did blow dry and cleaning. but i suspect leak.
may be its a leak based on some kind direction and pressure of water.
need to check in next normal wash.
the same might have happened in your car.
if your car is in warranty, it will be covered. if its CPO/extended then not, in cpo/extended they only cover motors or mechanism...i had asked SA.
