Yes, exactly their policy. When I had to have some tires replaced for "chunking" (Michelin traced the problem back to a faulty mold in their factory at the time they were made), that's what they quoted to figure my rebate under the warranty.
But, when I complained that both front and rears had the problem, they tore up the policy and honored the FULL warranty on the tires, decision made on the phone with the tire installer, took maybe 15 minutes.
Way to step up to the plate, Michelin!
