Run a 2.25" -> 3" flowmaster Y and then a single 3" exhaust all the way back to a single 3" muffler on the right side. By eliminating the exhaust plate and the need to cross over to the driver side you could make the run very straight. Should be pretty cheap too, I'd guess $375 installed.

One 3" pipe has less area than 2 - 2.25" pipes. (15.9*2 vs. 28). It may not seem like much but it is a 14% difference. I wonder how that would impact performance.
