worth buying a warranty or saving up a little more for a newer model
My 07 has been the most trouble-free BMW I have ever owned and I have had only 2 very minor warranty claims. Two primary issues known to the model year, HPFP and turbo wastegates, are both covered under BMW extended warranty. The other issues of subframe/pulley, main power cable/junction box are uncommon problems. Carbon buildup and spark plugs are maintenance items across all model years. Water pump is hit or miss.

I'd say if it is a well taken care of car and a responsible driver that you should be good to go with a proper pre-purchase inspection. The price seems reasonable to me and just a little less than what I'd put mine on the market for as is.
