There's a test that was done by Terry@BMS that provides quality data illustrating that an open element filter (BMS DCI, aFe DCI, even the Injen DCI) provide the same power #s as a STETT DCI & do NOT suffer from heatsoak. When you're at speed, there is significant passive airflow through the kidneys into the engine bay, so the intake isn't sucking in hot air that's "sitting" in the engine bay.
People fail to realize that while a CAI is a great intake, it also makes you much more susceptible to hydrolocking your engine if you live in an area that floods occur.
