Resident only parking is a minefield.
If you enlist the support of other residents and get your local councillor or MP to support your argument, you could petition the highways department to apply a local restriction. The problem is that resident only parking costs money to administer.
The arguments you would have to make to support it will be road safety based and these will equally support double yellow lines.
The unfortunate truth is that you are MORE likely to end up with no parking at all than a resident only scheme.
