I just installed my Gruppe-M intake in my E92 328i and yes you need to do some minor cutting on the very bottom of the CF Intake housing. Because there is a brace which is bolted from the frame to the body. So if you don't do the minor cutting it well not sit flush on the bottom and you will have a gap. I'll make a new thread and post some pic's up so you can see that mines sit flush and it does flow with the lines.
