Only two of mine were completely stripped, so I used the teflon-tape/epoxy method. (Apparently, the techs who changed the filters weren't in the gorilla class, yet. Although they did crack the cover.) I think I might get a couple more filter changes out of it before I need to use the brass inserts.

(BTW, definite for McMASTER-CARR. Even if I'm not using the screws and inserts yet, that was test customer service I've had in a long time. My order arrived the same day. I was afraid it would cost me a fortune for shipping -- they charged me $4.89.)
