Exactly.
I took my BMW to my family mechanic when it was sitting around 30K because BMW refused to do an oil change.
Picked up the car and my mechanic basically said that they didn't even change the oil filter on the 1st service. So much residue had built up in the oil filter it almost collapsed from it's own weight. He said he had the hardest time getting the oil filter out and it was lucky I brought it in - otherwise it would have caused some problems.
