I left the hardest part to the specialist in USA.

I got my completely brand new final drive unit with 3.08 final driver and Quaife LSD installed from Harold for US$3605. I want to keep my OEM final drive, so if I sell my car I can swap back the oem one. If you return your core then you get US$1000 back, so the price is US$2605. It weights about 90lb, so it is not cheap to ship it. Since my company has a lot of business with DHL, so I can get a pretty good shipping rate from DHL. I'm sure you can get some discount from couriers service, coz 90lb is not a small business.

The installation is pretty much straight forward and just bolt on. I only found one problem is that it seems my driveshaft flange type, however the final drive is in nut type. I end up have to order another drive shaft from Harold plus 3 weeks delivery lead time. The installation fee is not much, coz I picked the most easiest solution, but recall the cost. I've done it in a friend's garage in Tuen Mun. I'm not even bother to look at the invoice.

The LSD is purely mechanic device, it has nothing to do with the ECU, so you don't need any software upgrade.

One of the HK member in here his sister's E93 335i has been installed with Qauife LSD for her bolted drive, price is around HK$9,000 for everything, so far her car is fine. For welded drive, that garage is asking HK$16,500 for extra workmanship, I think this is reasonable.
