i dont think that stuff scratches you car, I've heard about goo gone, but all I did was sit there and peel with my fingers, I got entire letters of adhesives to come off with very little residue. Excess residue was removed by claying and stubborn spots I pwned with some paint cleaner
. Minor scratches can be taken care of by paint cleaner and polish.
