Yes u have to remove the fins to install it the right way. I Did it a different way though, which required a dremel but did not have to remove the fin.

Haven't had time to install it yet. It has been too cold. I was afraid i might crack the fiberglass in the freezing temps. Fiberglass didn't seem to flex much in 32 degree weather. I did a test fitting and everthing seems good though.
