Sorry to jump in here, I recently became a 335i owner. After only a week of owning the 07 335i sedan it started the long cranking issue. I've been reading here about the voluntary recall and decided to just make an appointment with East Bay BMW. They were very easy to deal with. We already installed Dinan stage 2 software on the car and I was hoping it wouldn't be an issue. They went ahead and upgraded to the latest software per the recall. But according to my SA the issue remained. They also found that the HPFP was replaced in Sep 09 be the PO. After about two days of troubleshooting, they just replaced the HPFP and I picked up the car.

The long cranking issue has been resolved. But we reloaded the latest Dinan Stage 2 software along with another customer and it does seem a bit slower on both cars.

FWIW - East Bay BMW was very easy to deal with and I didn't even have the letter. I just read this post and went in. Car starts and seems better, but I am not convinced it is completely resolved. Hope this information helps some of you. I was pleased with my dealer experience for this issue.
