Possibly but my point is that disabling the EGR will increase the pollutants entering the DPF which the DPF is not designed to cope with so you could clog up the DPF before its time. The EGR I believe is designed to recirculate a portion of the exhaust gases to be burned again through the inlet manifold. This results in reduced emission pollutants entering the DPF and thence the exhaust - all part of meeting the Euro IV emission spec.
