Quality means the choice of materials used, the driving dynamics of the car, how the car is put together.
Quality is something that say a BMW has, and Toyota not so much. Reliability in this sense is therefore different from quality. Although at times these two words can be used interchangeably, however, in this case they differ.
EDIT: my car has given me a lot of trouble, VCG and filter housing leak, starter went out. Even with all these problems, it is definitely worth it for me since the car is such a blast to drive. I would take an ultimate driving machine any day over a civic/corolla that perhaps wont give me problems until like 200k kms.
