i think the OP is missing the most important thing BMW missed: LSD
so let's say you want to get some kick out of the car, you gotta put on:
GM intake (2k)
FMIC (1500)
PROcede (900- say used)
DP's (800)
Exhaust (1300 +/-)
Coilovers (1500 +/-)
BOV doesnt add power so i wont put it in here...
let's see how much it's gonna cost: that's about $8500-$9000
that's with no wheels, lip, body kit, tint, etc
damn this car can make u bankrupt
Edit: forgot LSD too! that's another 2000
so you're looking at 10k-11k
