Eleven24........The run flats simply weigh too much. The weight of the wheels and tires exceeds 60 lbs. @ each wheel and that's unsprung weight! I also have a MINI Cooper S and purchased the "Lite" Wheels and run flats, which came with the Lites. Bull......Those wheels on the MINI weighed in at 72lbs. each!!! I dumped them, purchased two sets of Kosei racing wheels with Yoko AV ES 100's and weigh in at 36 lbs. for each wheel! You cannot imagine the difference in the handling of the car and the steering responsivness. I purchased the XI for the all wheel driviability...however, it does not mean that I will change my driving habits because of that. If I can make the car lighter by removing the unsprung weight, improve the handling...then so be it. However, if this is NOT a good idea, then I would also like to hear that as well. Thanks!
