I'm having done what your looking for next week. The way it was explained to me a Multimedia Manager from Alpine is used and it will allow you to use your ipod for it's music and for it's video. My plan is to just buy all my movies via Apple and be able to play them in my car. You can also do the DVD player and have all three of them working via the unit. And it works with your iDrive.
