It uses much the same sensor and it's fairly insensitive. Try locking you car whilst sitting in it - you can move quite a bit before it goes off. Taking out the side window with a centre-punch and sliding your hand down to the easily-reachable OBD cover with a thin cable will be missed by the alarm sensor on many cars I would think.
