I personally like the k&n drop in, I do see improvements in hp (very slightly) but I do also notice a drop in mpg. Imo, I think you should. Don't over oil it or it can drip onto your MAF sensor but other than that, I say its a great upgrade in saving money versus buying a new air filter every 50k or so miles. My filter seems to catch A LOT of debris and none of which I've seen any further in than the filter itself.
