I would avoid the problems and change just hydro part. So, try to find exactly same and to change metallic part, not electronic. To send complete to repair is an option but any descent workshop should have another to change promptly (you even can find online serviced modules).

In case you change this with another one some coding is necessary in order to write vin code to unit and to avoid some warning messages (I don't remember details, I've changed that long time ago).
