It is odd that it worked with HiFi since (as you said) Top HiFi transmits a digital signal to the Logic 7 amp in the trunk where it goes through a DAC before being amped to the speakers. I know HiFi also has an amplifier, but it takes an analog signal that has already been through a DAC at the headunit. Odd indeed.
In any case, I was able to recode my HU to Logic 7 (Top HiFi) properly. Basically, all you need to do is to go into expert mode in NCS and then code the rad2 module to default from your VO. After that everything is back to normal. The gong volume adjustment is also working properly. Yay!
