Advice on buying a pre-owned D.....
Check my math.....trying to understand a few points.
The 335d when new was eligible for the BMW eco credit which was ~$3500?
Then the new owner was also eligible for the IRS diesel tax credit of ~$900?
So in total the ~53,000 car got roughly ~$4500 taken off placing it in the same cost ballpark as a similar equipped 335i.
Yet from looking on Autotrader.com it seems most used 335ds are priced quite high compared to similar used 335is.
Gut feeling, it seems dealers selling 335ds are basing their depreciation off sticker price (~$53k) rather than off the actual 'take home' price. Thus making it more expensive on the used car market.
Am I correct with this logic?
